You’ve taken the necessary steps – called a termite inspector, scheduled a termite inspection, had the termite inspection. And now, you know, for sure, you have termites. So what should you do next? Here are some questions you’ll want to review with your termite inspector.

What Treatment?

The first question to ask your termite inspector is: what type of treatment is recommend for eliminating the termite infestation? A termite inspector will review what your options are, and will review the safety aspects of the treatments. You’ll want to really know what the safest methods are – especially if you have kids and pets.

Length of Termite Treatment Efficiency?

The second question is: how long will the termite treatment will last? First you’ll need to know how long the specific installation of the treatment will take – one or two days? Longer?

When Can I Expect Results?

You’ll also want to know how long it will take to see the results? It’s important to remember that termites do not always die right away – depending on the treatment. You’ll need to get a good estimation on when you can expect for the colony to be killed off. Ask how long the treatment is guaranteed for, and if there is a guarantee. Does the treatment also involve future management, such as yearly inspections?

You also might want to see the infestation or activity. It’s typical for any homeowner to want to see the termite infestation. You might also want to know the extent of the infestation. Ask any questions you have! Once you have fully answered everything you should be able to make your decision regarding the treatment of your home.
